Devoted supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who jumped a barricade and seized the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.

A circulating clip shows the person identified as Johnson Wen bypassing camera operators and charging at Grande while the performers made its way down a yellow carpet surrounded by fans.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by guards.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being taken in", though court documents showed that he was due to appear on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed contains clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last December.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is obviously a punishable act," commented an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user remarked.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Past Trauma

Several fans blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another response on Instagram.

Several fans also criticised guards at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while some requested online networks to ban Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In clips shared widely, Grande appeared startled when she was touched by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The film, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the second of a two-part interpretation of the popular stage musical Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two very different witches.

The show itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning film of 2024 in the UK, and received 10 Oscar nominations, winning two for best costume and production design.
