US performer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
